Kitchen Cabinet Feng ShuiI desperately needed some pictures of a totally organized set of kitchen cabinets and a closet or two and sent out an emergency email a couple of Sunday mornings ago to my "really into organization" clients to ask for any pictures they might have to help me with an upcoming article I am writing for the Dallas Morning News. Here are some pictures from my client & friend Karen's totally organized home in Florida. She formerly lived in Dallas and her family still lives here. I have known Karen for almost 10 years now. She is totally "into Feng Shui" and is a great photographer. She is actually certified in the Black Hat Sect of Feng Shui, and knows all of the Feng Shui disciplines and uses them in her home on a daily basis. She sent these pictures immediately when I asked and is thrilled she can help us with this. Karen, we are thrilled too. Karen says she is a Neat Nic. When she bought her new home, she only had tons of boxes of stuff and went to work on it to ultimately have a place for everything and everything in its place. She has done an incredible job here. Like Karen, when organizing your upper kitchen cabinets for the best possible Feng Shui, place the cups or glassware used most on the bottom shelf for easy access. The middle shelf should have dishes you use frequently, stacked in sets of similar types and shapes for their particular function, for the best use of the space available. Seldom used dishes, containers, or glassware work best up high where they can be located when their use is required, yet are out of the way of the everyday, frequently used items. Having golden tone cabinetry brings Prosperity and Good Health energies to the kitchen setting for your own personal energy.
Any use of the color Black brings the aspects of Career, Self and Destiny into play. As you experience meals from food ware that is Black, it literally "lifts" those energies for you, as you are eating, or serving from dishes of the color Black. Square shapes are the Earth Element and bring "grounding" energies, making us feel "connected" to our food and the setting. Round shapes are significant of the Metal Element which brings more clarity, and provokes more thought processes and analyzation.
Karen sometimes enjoys baking so her measuring cups are readily available. Again, seldom used objects are relegated to higher levels for convenience. With her spice assortment, she has the high use items on the top as this is a lower level cabinet door. The other more seldom used spices wait on lower shelves. Karen's kitchen is certainly one I would love to cook or bake in. It looks like House & Garden TV Channel to me, plus the fantastic Power Feng Shui. Specialty Lingerie & Lounge Wear ClosetClosets that are not crowded, well organized and easy to access have the best Feng Shui energies as they are freely available, without searching for your desired items. Karen has a special closet specifically for her Kimonos and lounge wear. She is a Florida resident now, spending lots of time at play or rest, and wants easy living available to her. Her shoes are clearly visible and labeled for convenient availability. These are her fun, casual shoes. Residents living in tropical settings such as Florida desire a free and easy lifestyle and this works very well for them as the weather is a key factor with dress. My years of Florida living taught me that when living in Florida you quickly adapt to being casual and comfortable. There is even a term for it. S. F. C....South Florida Casual. Much like the phrase when in Rome, speak Italian, when in Florida you will want to be comfortable above all else, so South Florida Casual will work remarkably well to create the optimum Feng Shui benefits for your body and "tropical state of mind." Whatever part of the country you live in dictates your wardrobe choices. Adapt your own personal needs, based on your climate and location, to design your closets for the specialized requirements your life demands. Having your body stress free is best achieved by dressing to your highest comfort level, which brings a sense of peaceful Feng Shui energies as you go about your life feeling good. More of Karen's wonderful organizational abilities...love those "Neat Nics."
Lingerie Clutter Can Be Organized for an Instant Moment of Fun...What a Great Investment in Your Love LifeI encourage clients that really desire to focus on Love & Romance to devote an entire closet to just lingerie and flimsy, filmy, "Frederick's of Hollywood" and "Victoria's Secret" fun mood-enhancing costumes. After all, as I see it, "Life is an Event that needs Ever Changing Costuming." This could even become a shared "loving experience" with your own intimate lover. Storing favorite candles, scents, "toys", music or anything that will "set a romantic mood" can become a fun ritual of "loving Feng Shui Romance moments" as you begin to enjoy the most intimate room in the Sacred Space, your bedroom. One "Romance Minded" client sets out a certain candle in the Bedroom if tonight is going to be a loving night for her love. When he comes home from work and changes his clothes, the candle is there with a silent promise as a hint of things to come later that evening, with the love that left them their own personal "candle message." I understand that the love sometimes brings that special candle out of the bedroom and into the kitchen or living area and lights it, sending another sort of invitation, to my client that spoke to me of this. What a delightful, secret language of love, they share. She tells me it keeps the love alive in a fun way and is just a secret between them. This is not a signal children or family members would notice. It is a very personal little reminder that there will be "us time" later in the evening. Got a candle? Want to "fire up" your love? Start your plans for that "special" closet just for the two of you. Who knows? You could start a trend. Above all, enjoy your life and your love. Creating new closets may be a new way to have some fun you had not thought of before. Don't stop with just organizing your clothing...Create Custom Closets for your HomeThere are endless options for "Custom Closets" I have seen working with my clients. Sports - specific closets for their children to use are a huge hit. This one trains children to directly go to and use a closet custom designed for their specific needs for their favorite sport or competition equipment. It is great life long training for the children and something they will use always, if trained to "organize" their lives from an early age. I have seen clients create Arts and Crafts specific closets for those that enjoy creating things and sharing those abilities with others. All of the art supplies or craft materials go right back into the closet and are organized while doing so. One client had a spare bedroom closet devoted to all of the seasonal Holiday decorations she uses throughout the year. Each holiday had its own labeled box and could be pulled out instantly, with everything pertaining to that holiday neatly tucked away inside, ready for use in the best, most organized fashion.
Another client has two huge dogs and they need a lot of special food, vitamins, equipment and of course, doggie clothing for when their make their "public appearances" she says. She used what would have been a mud room closet for coats and gear to custom create her doggies' own closet. She tells me they run to it and begin to bark when it is time to be out walking in the neighborhood. They sound really excited to have their very own closet. Who would have thought? Even our animals appreciate a little extra attention to details of their lives. A grandmother client keeps all of the family albums in the former coat closet by the front door and calls it the Family Closet. When the grand babes show up she frequently is asked to "Please show me 'me' Grandma." At that request the closet door to the Family Closet opens and all of the memories and treasures come out. It has become a wonderful point of bonding between the grandmother and her grand babies. I imagine when they grow up there will be a Family Closet in their homes as well.
A very literary client with a huge love of libraries placed all of their very favorite, old, valuable First Editions her family has collected since her childhood and before. She can go to it at any time and find her prized copy of one of her favorites and enjoy it. I am sure you get the idea. You are only limited by your imagination and creativity and taking that time to "organize" your life for your highest, most productive good. What do you need to "closet" in your life, as you look around your home and over your interests and all of the stuff that supports those interests. Springtime is the best time to reinvent yourself, your interests, and organize your Sacred Space.
The Cosmic Breath of God, the Universal Ch'i energy is invited to linger longer in a home that has all things in their place and no clutter present. The Ch'i blesses as it arrives with fresh blasts of various energies to "lift you up" in your life. Welcome it with a fresh "de-cluttered" energy and watch it rise to empower you. You will be thrilled with the results. Happy "de-cluttering and organizing" with your Spring Cleaning. Again I want to send a special "thank you" to my friend and client Karen in Florida. It was your quick reply with your "Neat Nic" pictures to my rescue for writing this article on De-Cluttering and Organizing Spring Cleaning and the inspiration for the upcoming Spring Cleaning/De-Clutter Feng Shui interview article I had with the Dallas Morning News. They called for a story and pictures. They needed both. I had plenty of stories about De-Cluttering and Spring Cleaning Organization with Power Feng Shui but I did not have any pictures of before or after. Thank you Karen for supplying me with visible proof that there are organized, de-cluttered Feng Shui enthusiasts alive and well and living happily in an organized paradise of Sacred Space. Looking at your pictures you are able to find anything, anytime. What a great feeling that must give you. It certainly has given us inspiration to enjoy your pictures and all of the hard work you have done to achieve it. We are MOTIVATED!!!
Get ready ladies and gentlemen, start your Spring Cleaning with the Top 10 Suggestions and love your new life and accessibility of all of your things. Your whole life will change. Be prepared to enjoy it. Spring has sprung and it is your turn. Start now. Know that as you release "things" from your life that the Universe will bring you new things and options for your life. There is only so much room in our lives for "stuff" so clearing it out opens up new opportunities and avenues of success and prosperity. Be ready for them when they appear. I love the "surprise of Feng Shui" as it brings changes we have desired or longed for, in fresh and interesting ways, into our lives, our work, and our circle of family/friends/loved ones. Clean that closet. Change your life. You will be happy you did.
Strikingly Beautiful Hindu Altar in Apartment Hallway ClosetThe most unique closet was a Hindu client that leased a small apartment facing Lake Ray Hubbard in Rockwall, TX., about ten years ago. She invited me to her home to meditate with her early one Sunday morning and enjoy the sunrise's light glistening across the water. What beauty to behold. Shimmering sunlight on water is my very favorite of all things, since I lived in Florida in 1966, and I was 19 years old. When I arrived she invited me to walk into the hallway area of her apartment. She opened the door to the linen closet and it had been totally transformed into an altar of her Holy Icons and objects, statues, pictures, paintings, and candles. The entire closet was lined with aluminum tin foil (which I would not suggest to protect from fires) and everything else was placed on the shelves or Holy images were taped to the foil. She had candles lit already to "purify the energy" in her Holy Place. It was just amazing to discover a tiny Hindu Altar closet in her apartment so completely dedicated to her love of Creator God and all of the other images of Hindu gods and goddesses. There were pictures of her deceased parents and her favorite Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
Talk about "Feeling the Vibrational Energy"...wow! It was so strong that I got those "God Bumps" clients tell me about when something really intense happens. Others of us call them "The Chills" from our soul. The energy was emanating so strongly from her Prayer Closet I could see waves of it, much like heat from the hood of your car on a hot Texas day, blasting out from the candles and the Holy Objects. This all has to do with not just the assembling of those objects, but with her own devout Holy Spirit Energy and all of the intentions, thoughts and prayers she was putting into her Altar Closet Sacred Space. It was simply awesome and made you want to only sit and "receive" from the energy. We did exactly that, as we sat lotus-style in front of the open door of the Hindu Altar Closet, on the hallway floor. It was huge for me as I had never shared prayers with my Hindu friend before. I love the feeling of joining together in prayer, seeking Holy direction together, in our own quiet way, for the combined good of ourselves, our families, our friends, and our Culture and all the like-kind believers we are joining together with in our prayers. There is huge strength in combined prayers for us all.
It was such an incredible experience that we did not get around to the balcony view of the "Shimmering Sunlight" on Lake Ray Hubbard until much later in the morning. Somehow, it did not bother me a bit. It had been a glorious experience to pray with my friend and enjoy the magnificent energy of the Holy Hindu Altar Closet. Sorry I have no picture of the Holy Hindu Altar Closet. It would have been in poor taste to ask to photograph it. It is a Sacred, Holy, and private place that belongs only to my client.
2nd Hindu Altar Closet brings a Past Life Flashback Experience for AlexOver the years as I have "Feng Shui'd" many Hindu clients' homes, each of them has a Hindu Altar Closet somewhere tucked away for their private worship and meditation ceremonies with candles, incense and Holy Icons. The most striking of all belongs to a couple that devoted half of their master closet area to their Hindu Altar. It was undoubtedly the largest closet I have ever seen, approximately 24'X 36' and perfectly organized. They were taking me on what they called jokingly, "the tour" before we started Power Feng Shui techniques for their home. As I entered the Master Bathroom I could feel the instant energy shift and those "God Bumps" making chills all over my skin. I knew something big was about to happen.
We walked through the bathroom and into the closet. I had already removed my shoes at the door of the home as is the custom, but I was not prepared when I suddenly found myself standing face to face with a larger than life size standing image icon of Buddha with his hands outstretched. There were lit candles everywhere and the glow was phenomenal. It was a completely overwhelming energy of "waves of love" coming at me and I felt instantly humbled and like I had overstepped my boundaries to enter such a sacred place. I felt very unworthy. As a Christian, God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are the foundations of my belief. As a seeker of spiritual wisdom for the understanding of it, to respect and appreciate others beliefs, I knew of Buddha's incredible teachings of love and sacrifice. Knowing it and feeling the "Prayer Energy" that was so alive in that huge closet were two entirely different things. The prayers of my clients and their children in their Hindu Altar Prayer Closet were what had created that empowered prayer energy, sincere, devoted, and dedicated energy to their Holy Deity.
They had left all of the candles glowing while we "house shopped for great Feng Shui" which I thought was an incredibly wise move to "entertain the Holy Spirit of God" as they know Him, while they were out looking for what they are praying to find. Of course, the servants were there to keep a close eye on things, so there was not an issue with fire safety of any kind. It would never be a good idea to leave glowing candles unattended anytime. I learned a lot that day. "Prayer in motion" left to signal the Most High, the Most Holy God, our Creator, is something I have done for years. I light my candles in Churches where they have 24 hour Novena Prayer Candle Altars and go and light new ones weekly, to replace them for the prayers of my loved ones, clients and business associates, for their highest good. I consider it the least I can do to accompany my prayers.
Here in this Hindu Temple inside a Master Bathroom Closet was a huge shrine to Buddha and many of the Holy gods and goddesses of the Hindu Culture. The Holy Energy was extremely high at that moment. The candles had been glowing for hours, it was obvious. Those "waves of love" were bringing tears to my eyes and instantly I began to question why would I respond in such a way to someone else's Altar I have no connection to? Instantly my Third Eye Chakra began to flash visions inside my head. The Third Eye Chakra is the "All Seeing Eye" of our mind, located in the center of our forehead. It is the seat of our intuitive wisdom and actually acts like a TV screen, behind our eyelids it feels, to see visions of ghosts, and family that may have already passed on, and sometimes prophecy or predictions or warnings. The 7 Chakras are the energy centers of our bodies http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chakras
Scroll down to the The Seven Major Chakras and read about it for yourself. The more you understand about your body, the better you will be able to care for it, and its needs, many of which are emotional. The Chinese have known of these Chakras for thousands of years and their healing abilities. It will only help you to learn of them and have a basic understanding of what they do for you and your body. There inside their closet, as the visions lit up inside my Third Eye I saw myself dressed as a male Buddhist monk climbing a mountain to a cave high above the earth. I was freezing and it was winter time and I had only rags to wear. Near the top of the mountain I found my way into a cave where there was the largest Buddha I had ever seen, huge, maybe 100 feet tall, painted golden. Suddenly the vision ended.
I was having not only a flashback from a past lifetime as a Buddhist monk, it was the second time I had seen that vision. The first time I was getting a Reiki healing treatment and had past life visions, and the images of the Buddhist monk had appeared, the freezing weather I felt and the shivering, and the climb up the mountain, into the cave and finally seeing the giant Buddha. It all took a sequence like a movie would play out and then it faded to black background. The visions attached to that flashback lastly showed another monk in the distance, maybe 50 feet away from me looking at me sternly. His face was very familiar and suddenly I realized it was my friend Linda that had been to so many metaphysical classes with me and turned me on to so many new books and actually told me "Feng Shui is your new career" just hours before I went to her home for the first Feng Shui consultation I had ever seen, in 1994. We have actually gone to meditation with Buddhist monks twice in the last couple of years. Now I understand why. We were there before, in another life time.
Her face as a Buddhist monk was very old and her mind, rather his mind, as she was appearing as a vision of a man, was saying to me "We are men this time. We prayed together here so long ago," and then it all disappeared. As you might imagine, it was all very rapid, quick fire images and audio from a past lifetime I had seen before. As I was experiencing all of this vision flashback I suddenly became aware that I was standing in front of Buddha and trembling. My clients asked if I was all right. I reassured them I was fine and it was just overwhelming to me for them to share such an emotionally intimate Holy Place with me and how very much I appreciated it and that it was an honor for me. All of that was true.
Needless to say I did not announce my past life visions right there on the spot. It would have been inappropriate of me. I was there to offer Power Feng Shui suggestions for the approaching sale of their existing home, not to share an instantaneous experience that was triggered by the face of Buddha, the exact same face I had seen of Buddha in the visions I had before, there in their closet. I had never seen that presentation of Buddha ever before or since. I have not even been able to find it on the Internet yet. I know I will, when the time is right. What I learned was confirmation to my questions of God, "Where was I before if I had a past life? What culture did I embrace? What people were my people? What faith was mine? I know it does not matter to you but perhaps it would help me understand who I am now and why I feel the way I do towards certain tribes of people, so connected, even though I know almost nothing of them and have no friends from that tribe. If it is possible, please Creator God show me visions or directions that will answer my questions."
Be prepared to receive the answer to the prayer request you send up. Sometimes it is a huge surprise. In the closet with the image of Buddha from my past lifetime as a monk I had felt just "waves of joy, happiness, love, contentment, peace, wholeness, wellness, and fulfillment" surrounding me. It was simply unbelievable. Yet, I KNOW in my soul that truly I was a part of the Buddhist culture at a very different time and through the connection of my friend Linda that I have known since 1981 in this lifetime, and our shared experience of being Buddhist monks I have clearly seen in two separate visions, Feng Shui came to me as a profession. Rabbi Solomon of Kabbalah International at www.kabbalah.com would say that my past life good deeds brought me something directly connected to the culture that would give me joy and others as well. He believes that in a past life if I did indeed humble myself and "earned the wisdom" and brought it forward to this point in time, it is so I could use it now. It is believed that is how it works. When we become respectful, honorable, humbled, and mindful of all life then we complete whatever life we are having and are off to the next one where we will find ways to help others in their lives. Remember those "spiritual gifts" you achieve, you bring forward with you. They follow you into your next life time to help you there. Talk about great motivation to do the right thing!
When I began to write this article I never realized it would take a "past life flashback" turn. I was only happy that when I sat down and prayed over what to say that I suddenly remembered the first Hindu client and our combined meditation sharing that lovely Sunday morning and the beauty of the shimmering water. I thought to myself, "What a great closet that was. Maybe someone will be inspired to create a Meditation Closet to have a "point of focus" for their prayers. Wouldn't that be fun for them and uplifting?" That was as far as I got with my thoughts at the time. What I have found is that if you align your pure intention with your Power Feng Shui'd environment of your Sacred Space, and play your favorite music and smell your favorite smells from scents or candles you bring into your space, and see things you feel are beautiful and "move your soul to joy" surrounding you, your life will be guided in a "divinely inspired" Soul Ch'i direction. You will acquire what it is you are seeking.
Honoring the Sacred, Cosmic Breath of God by creating a place that welcomes that Ch'i for a fresh renewal, and rehabilitation of your life, your space and your circumstances. Miracles happen. Expect them. You will not be disappointed. Happy Power Feng Shui Cleaning, Clearing, Organizing and De-Cluttering. You deserve it. Eliminate Magazine Clutter, Clear out & Create space for them
I don't know about you but I always have more magazines, newspapers and periodicals than I can ever have time to read. I get overwhelmed as you can see from the picture when I toss them in the reading area of my Sacred Space. Then they feel like an obligation to read when I really do enjoy them so much and the "quiet time alone" I enjoy spending just on me. I bought this magazine rack for $5.00 from Unity of Richardson's Garage Sale and just loved the grapes and leaves for "blooming abundance" woven into the design. As always to raise the vibration of the magazine storage icon to its highest level I chose Rust-oleum Gold Metallic for the highest Good Health and Prosperity Ch'i energy to show up. After spray painting my magazine storage icon Golden, I sorted and sifted through what I really wanted to read and what I knew could be tossed out. It is not that the magazines themselves become prosperous, I am focusing my pure intentions to make the concepts and ideas that come to me while reading the content of the magazine that I wish to become "Golden" for me. I want the creativity to "fire up" within my own life, as I am inspired by the thoughts of others, only in my own way, for the things I wish to empower with "Prosperity and Good Health. You may be like me in the sense that if you can structure a reward or "payoff" of some sort, emotional, intellectual, gift, perk, whatever, treat of some sort which could even be a new office supply item or lunch out for fun, then the hard work of the task will fly by as you are on your way to that reward. Not everyone is motivated by reward systems. That is great for them. For myself, I find that it alleviates the boredom of the task itself if I "toy with the idea" in my mind first. At the end I am thrilled it is complete and looks great and that I have spent the time. Find a rack, box, basket, a container of any sort and use it to "reinvent" your magazine reading area or books and literature offerings. Use Gold Metallic Rust-oleum paint to create fresh Prosperity & Good Health energies in your Sacred Space. You will love it, plus you have achieved one more Clutter-free area in your Sacred Space, and you have been able to recycle something to a "higher good" for its use. Green, green, green or in this case, gold, gold, gold. Eliminating Clutter out of your life changes your Ch'i energies immediately and brings fresh options for new and different things to open up for you and your heart's desires. Cleaning out, restoring, or freshening items, art, icons, organizational tools, or just closets or drawers can be so exhilarating. Years ago an self-admitted OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) member of my family told me how they just "loved to clean out and organize anything" and it was similar to sex. Shocked, I asked how... "Well after you have done all of that work and you come back and look it over and see how great it looks and how organized it is, doesn't that make you 'hot'?" Hot for perfectly organized drawers and closets was something I had never considered before. Maybe she has a point...next time someone asks me if organized drawers make me hot I will have an answer. Feng Shui Hot! It definitely "heats up" the energy to have all of the drawers and closets uncluttered and easily accessible and viewed by those in the home or office. The Crescent Hotel in uptown Dallas uses Purple Flower PowerThe Crescent Hotel in uptown Dallas knows the color Purple has the highest vibration to raise the Ch'i with their excellent display splash of Purple flowers on the corner to greet the traffic. The Purple color will "lift up Wealth and Empowerment" in your life. The Wood Element of "fresh growth" comes along with it for those energies to come to the Crescent now!
More and more I see businesses using the Colors of Feng Shui, especially Purple for Wealth and Empowerment and Gold or Yellow to bring Prosperity Luck to their companies. Those are the Prosperity and Empowering colors of wealth. Why not plant your own garden and lift up the vibrations of the colors of Purple for Wealth/Empowerment and Gold or Yellow to bring Prosperity and Good Health? The gardening is a stress-buster and can become a passion and a shared experience, with a friend, a neighbor or in a club setting with a group of other passionate gardening people...remember the different flowers have a different appeal to different people. Much like going to professional dog or cat shows, flowers have universal appeal to all. Competitions are part of it, if you wish to really become passionate garden-wise. Even planting a pot of something and giving it as a gift will lift their Ch'i and give you good Karma. You could take clippings from your own garden, repot them and share them for the blessings with others. There are dozens of ways you can enjoy the "Uplifted Ch'i" of fresh growth of Spring flowers. Find some. Good luck in your search. Cure Your "Money Running Downhill" with flowers and plantsProperty that has the home sitting atop a hill with the land "running downhill" is not good Feng Shui. First there is no protection from the Wind Ch'i and ancient Feng Shui believes the house could "topple over" with a big gust of wind and be destroyed. Very dangerous Feng Shui. Secondly, and the most important consideration of the money, is that when the land surrounding you is all sliding off and running downhill, it is believed that the money will follow it. Chinese would never live in a home with "Money Running Downhill" as they know it would be very bad luck for them and their money. To "Cure" any symbolic "Money Running Downhill" energies the normal "Cure" is to place a reflective surface, a mirror ball, a mirror on the fence, a wind chime or bells, a whirly gig or any "motion" object, at the bottom of the incline of the hill to bring "Movement Energy" to bounce the Ch'i (Cosmic Breath of God/Life Force) energy right back up the hill to keep the money on the land. In this setting the owners have planted the entire downhill slope with flowers to bloom and enjoy, drastically changing the "Money Running Downhill" energy. The addition of a rock wall and pillars adds the Earth Element's stability and a symbolic end to the land eroding away, as it runs downhill. With this "Cure" in place the "Money Running Downhill" is no longer an issue. What a glorious way to enjoy it as well. Bahamas Hotel Stained Glass Holy Cross in the BarBahamas Hotel Stained Glass Holy Cross Panel actually acts as the focal point in the Bar of the hotel where we stayed when I was on vacation there. It has a stylized golden (Prosperity/Good Health) Greek Key in the center of the two double bands of golden border circles. White brings Creativity, Blue attracts the energies of Wisdom/Knowledge/Spirituality, Green uplifts Family/Community and also represents the Wood Element for Growth in all of the areas the colors address the Ch'i energies. The four dark green (Wood Element also), right angle borders that set off the white Cross create the illusion of another incomplete Cross. This is a glorious display of color, design and Holy symbolism right here in the Bar at the Hotel in The Bahamas. My friend and I "toasted" the Cross and all it meant to us, as we were inspired by the sight of such a magnificent stained glass Cross on display for us to enjoy. Talk about good Holy Spirit Ch'i energy! Excellent... Here is a fun way to create your very own Sea Shell Prosperity Mirror from all of those sea shells you have collected from your trips to the sea, wherever that may be. Using sea shells (The Earth Element) creates a "grounding connected" vibration of Prosperity for you. Since only Creator God makes sea shells, they hold an extra special vibration to "lift up prosperity" in your home or office. I will take you step by step through this process to give you an idea of how to create your own Sea Shell Prosperity Mirror. Each and every mirror, whether you make one or a dozen as gifts, has its own special look and feel, depending on the size, color and shape of the shells you put into it. There is no wrong way to do this. Just use your imagination and enjoy the fun of "creating Prosperity" for yourself.
First assemble your supplies. You will need your shells, a mirror to use as your foundation, a stretchy wire plate hanger that will fit the height of the mirror, and a hot glue gun (Be Very Careful NOT to burn yourself. This is not a child's project.). This mirror in the "Lucky Octagon" shape, the luckiest of all shapes, according to 6,000 years of Chinese Feng Shui, was about $6. at Hobby Lobby. You may have an old mirror or framed mirror you may want to use as your basic foundation to your Sea Shell Prosperity Mirror. Use whatever you like and looks good to you. Recycling old mirrors is a "Green" idea so that is great way to get a new life out of an old mirror. Lay out all of your shell collection around the mirror, evenly distributing large and small sea shells all around to get an idea of balance and concept BEFORE you begin. Each mirror is unique so don't agonize over it not being perfect. The imperfection of sea shells as they have been washed and worn down by the waves of the sea hold even more Water Element energy to add to this project. The Water Element brings renewal of our Spirit and our Money. This is very good. I spray painted the back of the mirror to seal the "silver" of the finish to prevent it being scratched and visible on the front surface of the reflection side of the mirror. As always I used Gold Metallic Rust-oleum spray paint to do this. The Gold color adds both Prosperity and Good Health to this or anything you may be painting. This is an optional step. Next I stretched the wire plate hanger to fit the mirror and provide the ability for it to hang. After you do this, flip it over and lay it flat, reflection face down, faciang the table. Use your hot glue gun to run a thin bead of hot glue from the edge of the mirror to the cross brace, on the top and the bottom of the mirror, on all four wires that go to the edges of the mirror, for stability. You do not want it to be shaky, only stable. I let the glue set up for about 10 minutes just to be sure it seals to the back of the mirror. It is better to be safe with a strong attachment now, than sorry later, should it let go from not giving it enough time to firm up the hot glue holding it together. When you are finished with this step turn the mirror over, facing reflection side up and place it again, in the center of your assembled sea shells.
You may use only your sea shells OR you can add things you enjoy to it if you like. In this case I added a large Sand Dollar for the extra Prosperity energy. If you wanted to, you could spray the Sand Dollar with the Rust-oleum Gold Metallic paint. See http://powerfengshui.info/EZine/0109.shtml#Golden in January's EZine here on this site. In this particular case I wanted to use the natural bleached out white of the original Sand Dollar for the blessing. The spiritual aspects of Sand Dollars you may find just below the Golden Sand Dollar story at the previously mentioned link. These shells I picked up on the Gulf Coast seashore in Naples, Florida on the last morning I was there to visit my dear friend Gerrie Anne, last March & April 2008. I got up about 5 A.M. and went down to sit by the Gulf and enjoy my up front and personal closing moments of my seaside holiday of my visit with Gerrie Anne. As I sat there listening to the Gulf speak to my Spirit, and feeling the exhilaration of the wind coming in with the waves, gently blowing all around me, I decided to collect some of the fresh shells that had been washed ashore overnight. If you ever visit or live in Florida you know that tourist and visitors like myself swarm the beaches and collect everything they can shell-wise to take home as a souvenir of their holiday. I was no different. I thought if I find enough sea shells perhaps I could make a mirror for Gerrie Anne and myself so both of us would have a Sea Shell Prosperity Mirror as a keepsake of the time we enjoyed together, there on Gulf Shores Drive in Naples, Florida. This is the first mirror I made as Gerrie Anne's gift. Using sea shells creates a totally unique Prosperity Icon for each thing you make.
Using the hot glue gun I attached the largest piece, the Sand Dollar at the very center of the base of the mirror. Then I began to hot glue shells and build my design, using whichever side of the seashell that I liked best, for the artistic aspects to create the effect I desired. There is no right or wrong way to do this. No anxiety please. This is just for fun and Prosperity energy to get a "lift" in the Sacred Space where it finds a home, whether it is yours or a friends' or other loved ones. Use some of the larger seashells to create a balance around the mirror, then surround them with smaller ones.
Use you own artistic insight and place them where you desire. I used the tiny shells to finish out the detail and cover anything that didn't look perfect to me. As you can see the hot glue leaves tiny, thin streamers of glue all over the project. Don't panic...let them dry and harden before you try to remove them. Otherwise the hot glue will smear on the surface of the mirror and be harder to clean up when you finish.
As you can see I added a tiny dried starfish I had for a long time just to have an additional point of interest. The starfish and the Sand Dollar were the only "things from the Sea" that did not come from the Gulf Coast that last morning of my visit to Naples. Some of the prettiest and most unique shells I topped off by hot gluing them atop other shells just for a lovely dramatic effect to accent them from the other shells. The corkscrew sea shells on the left side, at the 10 o'clock position of the Sand Dollar and also those on the right hand side of the mirror, the 2 o'clock position, and on the top, plus the striped nautilus shells and a few other odd pieces, really added a bit of natural sea shell color to the mix. Don't throw away broken or misshapen pieces of the shells but instead use them as part of the design. Seashells, like humans, are never perfect, but that only adds to the uniqueness of the finished Sea Shell Prosperity Mirror. As a lifetime Capricorn, striving for perfection in all things always has made me a little intense when things are not perfect. Years ago I finally accepted that life itself is not perfect, so I decided to give up on my perfection craziness so I can enjoy the experience, whatever it is, be it "art-ing & crafting" or just life as it rolls by. If you adopt this attitude and accept what is "imperfect and unique" you will see the beauty in all things, through a fresh perspective. I like to call it looking at life "through God's eyes." I am not Him but I want to appreciate the beauty He has created in all things. There is no right or wrong shape for this project. It all depends on what you see in your "Mind's Eye" and how you desire for it to be. Set yourself free from that perfection mentality and just enjoy what you create. As you can see, the final, finished and completed project is simply gorgeous and unlike any other in the world. My friend Gerrie Anne will have a truly "one of a kind" Sea Shell Prosperity Mirror to increase her Prosperity and the benefits of the Earth Element as a bonus for a "grounded, connected" energy to her beloved Gulf of Mexico seaside 3 month holiday visit she enjoys each winter in Naples.
