I love museum coffee cups and the art and style that each bring to that cup of tea or coffee. Sometimes they are too big to keep the coffee hot but just right for a soup cup. They never match anything we have but we love them anyway and they are a great reminder of our visit or a gift from someone else's visit to us.
Need new gift ideas...go to the coffee cup cabinet or rack and pull out the ones you would enjoy getting with a live flower or plant in them. Grab a bag of Miracle Gro Potting Soil for good luck. Anything that says the word miracle right there on it must be claiming the blessing. We want to do that for our gifts that we will be passing on.
Find a nursery where they still have blooming plants and get the ones that connect to your image of what they should look like in your about to be recycled cups. Go to the Feng Shui Power Key chart for the colors of blooms to use for each particular one to bring the correct energy you intend for your gift receiver. Find these colors at http://www.powerfengshui.info/articles/heaven_increases/powerkey1.main.shtml
Here I chose a Black cup for Self/Career/Destiny with White details for the Creativity/Children energies and my desire for my friend that received this was for those things to be Purple with the Empowerment/Wealth energies of Fresh Growth which is the Wood Element. All of the Green lifts the Wood Element energies but increases the Family/Community/Work Place energies as well.
Recycle your old coffee cups and bring some Fresh Growth Energy and maybe a bit of culture or art to someone's morning hot drink ritual. Have fun doing this. If you don't have fun what was the point? Be sure to always lift your own energies by surrounding yourself with Power Feng Shui in all ways possible.
Daly's Merle Norman Cosmetics, Peru, Indiana
Daly's has been an established store in downtown Peru, Indiana since 1953. It has always been an upscale women's clothing and jewelry "hot spot" for shopping and owned by my friend Gerrie Anne that originally took it over when her aunt Mary Daly retired. Her Aunt Mary Daly was the original owner and founder of Daly's.
A few years ago Gerrie Anne sold it to Susan and her Mom, Marilyn and they brought their already prosperous Merle Norman Cosmetics store to the existing Daly's location. They really have it all now.
Stop by and buy some of the Luxor night cream that restores your skin so wonderfully or try something else new and fun or exciting. Say hello for me and that you saw them in the October EZine at www.PowerFengShui.info
The large round disk showing The Water Bearer's Sign of the Zodiac, Aquarius, see reference at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aquarius_(astrology) above Daly's front door is symbolically pouring a constant stream of the Water Element, or with Power Feng Shui, the renewal of love, money and spirit for each one that visits or works here. This Aquarius power disk was a gift to my friend Gerrie Anne from her late friend Don Hughes, Indianapolis psychic extraordinare' to celebrate her birthday. It still holds a blessing for financial & spiritual renewal at Daly's for those that walk under it, or visit their location. Anything given in a spirit of love and blessing holds only good energy for those that experience the environment around it.
Using your Chinese or regular astrological birth sign animal in your decor strengthens your life and money as it was the appointed or "chosen time" for your birth. I use small ceramic icons of the Chinese Dogs, the Foo Dog, guardian to the Imperial Emperors that practiced the use of Feng Shui 6,000 years ago in ancient China. The dog sign is my Chinese sign. In regular astrology I find the goat less appealing. I have found that if I am checking my astrology the Chinese is much more accurate than the regular astrology. Compare them for yourself and see which suits you. We can all use any "heads up" information we can get to help us plan our lives.
I did the Power Feng Shui for Susan and Marilyn last year and it is a perfectly "Power Feng Shuied" environment. You will feel the difference when you walk in the door. Stop and visit and find new friends at Daly's Merle Norman Cosmetics.
Visit Daly's in Peru, one block from the Court House when you get the chance.
Greyhouse Coffee House
West Lafayette, Indiana
At the top of the hill, after you cross the Wabash River as you enter West Lafayette, Indiana, on the right side is the brand new Greyhouse Coffee Shop. It is at the stop light across from the Chauncey Hill Shopping Center, behind the green Chase Bank building. You may find out more about this new stopover for caffeine at http://www.greyhousecoffee.com/
Coffee shops are another one of my favorite spots to try new flavors of coffee and teas and also food fare. Greyhouse has lots of healthy options, plus bakery goods for those with a sweet tooth.
Old Library car file drawers are used to hold all of the sugars, stir sticks, honeys, napkins, and utensils. It adds a great eclectic look to the "Coffee Fixin' Area" for customers to enjoy.
Greyhouse enjoys art and they have used it throughout their location. Even the Brick wall (Earth Element) is a piece of the art here.
There is a narrow seating platform beside the Brick Wall which sets it off for a bit of drama on display. The draping of the curtain adds to that as well.
These Indiana paintings are painted on old time raisin drying racks. I collected some of these with posters decoupaged over them back in the 1980's. I liked the idea that they had already been used to product raisins from dried grapes and then they were recycled for art. These paintings are some of the best art I have seen the raisin racks used for.
The restroom door has Jack Cassidy (David's father) on the Men's Room. The Ladies' Room has this picture on it. The Men's Room has Blue walls bringing Power Feng Shui energies for Wisdom, Knowledge, and Spirituality.
The Ladies' Room has Gold for Prosperity/Good Health energies to abound.
Someone's humor is showing at the bottom of the inside of the Ladies' Room where they have placed a photo of a woman's feet in the stall. Love those hexagon tiles to bring that "old time feel" to Greyhouse Coffee Shop.
The clock has artistic style and in another seating area off the main salon they have used board games, glued to the ceiling for fun and conversation piece art objects. It is very different and fun.
Thank you Grey House Coffee for bringing new coffee options to West Lafayette, Indiana. We enjoyed our trips here. Good luck with your new location here.
Lift Your Ch'i with Lucky Stargazer Oriental Lilies
Throughout the months of this year I spent "updating" the real estate with Chuck and his cats there were always Stargazer Oriental Lilies on display to "lift our spirits" (Ch'i) and inspire us to enjoy the beauty of just one style of life's Lucky Feng Shui flowers. We laughed when we found out we both have been buying them for ourselves over the years and we never discussed it until 13 years later. Rabbi Solomon of
www.Kabbalah.com would say that such a passion for that specific flower would be significant from its connection to our past lives, that each of us had experienced separately, at a different point in time. He believes that we bring our joys and love of beauty with us into this lifetime for us to enjoy again as well.
Thank you Chuck for all of the lovely beauty you shared to inspire us to be uplifted during the "Rebuilding of the house of Chuck" as you like to call it.
Thoughts of Thomas: Man's Place in the Universe
What I want to talk about today is the relationship between all living things and their environment and the only reasonable resolution for mankind I can see to the problems we face. I’ve read many books and watched every TV show on science and nature I could since I was a child. Some more than once, ask my wife if you don’t believe me.
After all I’ve seen, heard, and read I have come to the conclusion that all life is parasitic. It will feed off its host (the earth) until it reaches an unsustainable number. At that point it either cuts back its population to a sustainable size quickly enough for the earth to recover or it becomes extinct. Unlike most hosts the earth is large enough to survive after the parasite either stabilizes or dies.
The other thing I have come to believe there is and always will be is a balance of nature but it only lasts a short time. Nature is a pendulum that swings from feast to famine only passing through balance.
The earth is in a constant state of flux, the continents move on the molten core. This causes ocean currents to change that bring drastic changes in weather patterns.
The earth wobbles on its axis every twenty six thousand years that alters temperatures at the poles.
Meanwhile the suns temperature osculates, every few decades; all these factors have an impact on the earth and everything on it.
What I see is a world that is not exactly the same two days in a row. What we call balance is a snap shot of time that we live in.
Not long ago I watched a show about The Great Barrier Reef; they were concerned about the population explosion of a certain kind of star fish. Seems the star fish were eating the coral and if something didn’t change the reef might die in a few years. This is the feast part of the equation that causes the over population. If this happens soon there won’t be enough food for all the star fish and this will cause the famine and they will start to die. They may or may not kill the entire reef but the star fish population will be drastically reduced and it will take decades for the reef to recover. Then it will happen again and again. This seems to be the way for all species, except man.
We are unique. We can reason and that alone has raised us to the top of the food chain and should make it apparent we can’t stay on this earth forever. Our little blue planet is only a nursery for mankind, it is not our home. Our home is among the stars where new worlds and endless possibilities exist.
Here there is only one possibility, the extinction of civilization. We are using up the earth and no amount of conservation will help; it only puts off the inevitable. We will run out of everything eventually, only to return to what we were three million years ago, simple hunter gatherers.
What a waste that would be.
Thomas
Have fun and be safe. God bless You all.
